Duties
Review and analyze MGCRB and PRRB appeals, as well as other complex cases, to identify procedural defects and prepares thorough analyses with well-reasoned recommendations for final disposition.,Develop and maintain detailed case status reports to ensure all statutory deadlines for the Administrator’s review are met.,Conduct trend analyses regarding case volume, status, and outcomes, proactively updating the Director on progress and identifying potential risks or issues requiring attention.,Coordinate the management of court transcripts and works closely with the Office of General Counsel on court filings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.

In order to qualify for the GS-12, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Providing support to attorneys by drafting complaints, motions, subpoenas, orders, agency decisions, or other hearing, trial or agency administrative case documents accurately and in proper format; 2) Assisting with discovery, hearing, trial preparation, agency administrative case processing (e.g. compiling trial notebooks, assembling jury instructions, assembling agency case records, and compiling witness and exhibit lists); 3) Utilizing legal software applications/databases to conduct legal research, prepare case reports, record management and/or produce litigation/case reports and documents; and 4) Presenting oral and written facts and legal arguments to provide guidance and assistance to management and/or support staff on cases pending before agency or court. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
