Salary: $48,252 - $75,969/In Accordance with the CLEA Master Agreement
Reports To: Building Administrator
QUALIFICATIONS:
NOTICE OF 2026/2027 VACANCY
- Must Possess a Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate for the Appropriate Grade Level.
- Master’s degree in education or a field of study related to special education.
- Must hold Teacher Consultant Endorsement (includes 3 years of satisfactory teaching experience).
- Must have an endorsement in at least one area of special education.
- Experience with K-12 Students.
- Competency in the administration and interpretation of academic testing.
- Ability to clearly communicate assessment results and collaborate with general education teachers regarding classroom modifications and differentiation of curriculum.
- Knowledge of the Common Core and grade level expectations and the ability to work with general education staff provide curriculum modifications for student’s with IEP’s.
- Knowledge and experience with Assistive Technology.
- Knowledge and experience with behavioral difficulties, including Functional Behavior Assessments and Positive Behavior Support Plans.
- Ability to work with general and special education staff to service caseload students.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Early Childhood PK-K (ZA) Endorsement.
- Learning Disabilities (SM) Endorsement.
- Experience with ECSE students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide individualized and small-group instruction and co-teaching for identified classrooms.
- Coordinate and schedule IEP’s for caseload students.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary evaluations and behavior intervention planning.
- Provide written reports for student evaluations and caseload student’s annual assessments.
- Provide consultation for general education in the areas of classroom modifications and differentiating the curriculum.
- Provide consultation for K-12 as assigned.
- Provide guidance and support to building special education teams for individual students.
- Assist in the coordination of state and local assessment.
- Assist in transition IEP’s and Secondary Transition Activities.
- Provide communication to parents, teachers, and administration regarding caseload student’s needs and program planning.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
