Location: Center Line Public Schools
Salary: $48,252 - $75,969/In Accordance with the CLEA Master Agreement
Reports To: Building Administrator and Director of Special Education

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters' Degree in Speech and Language
- Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech and Language Services or valid Michigan Teaching Certificate as a teacher of Speech and Language Impaired as approved by the MDE.
- Must attain Speech-Language Pathologist License through State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs or temporary licensure.
- CFs will be considered.
PREFERRED:
- Must be organized and flexible.
- Must have ability to coordinate with multi-disciplinary team colleagues.
- Must have good oral and written communication skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develops, implements and coordinates the speech and language program and goals within the school district, including vision, procedures and goals.
- Evaluates the speech and language needs of students, using appropriate tests, professional observations and supplementary information from other sources.
- Coordinates speech and language services with support and instruction provided by other school personnel, including teachers, administrators and other student support personnel.
- Interprets assessment findings and conveys information to parents and school staff.
- Conducts speech, language and hearing screens and obtains additional diagnostic information from appropriate personnel and available records for speech and language purposes.
- Evaluates, monitors and reports on student’s progress in both formal (IEP) and informal meetings with families and school staff.
- Plans evidence-based interventions appropriate for individual student and/or groups of students.
- Develops lesson plans, instructional materials, and appropriate tasks, and provides differentiated and small-group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the individual needs of all students.
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student’s needs, conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
- Assesses the need for assistive technology and makes recommendations for its use at school to support the student to function as independently as possible.
- Complies with rules and regulations surrounding the Child Find process.
- Participate in MET/REED/IEP meetings.
- Maintain required student records.
- Knowledgeable in Power School Special Education (TieNET).
- Utilize educational technology to support student instruction and learning.
- Able to assist with walking students to/from class.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
