PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVES OF POSITION
The Procurement Intern is responsible for supporting the procurement team on high-impact, time-bound
special projects that optimize spend, supplier performance, and procurement processes. This internship
emphasizes practical, hands-on experience with real projects, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Support end-to-end execution of special procurement projects (e.g., supplier consolidation, onboarding
improvements, spend analytics, contract analytics, RFPs for specific categories).
· Collect, clean, and analyze procurement data from ERP/PO systems, supplier portals, and spend reports
to identify savings opportunities and process bottlenecks.
· Assist in designing and testing new procurement processes, controls, or templates (e.g., supplier
master data hygiene, approval routing, catalog management).
· Help prepare RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs for defined projects; assist with vendor communications and
proposal evaluation under supervision.
· Track project milestones, risks, and issues; maintain project documentation and status dashboards.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Legal, IT, Category Managers) to ensure alignment
and timely execution.
· Support supplier performance management activities, including data collection for supplier scorecards.
· Create and deliver concise project reports, presentations, and recommendations to stakeholders.
· Learn and apply internal policies, procurement compliance requirements, and ethical sourcing
standards.
· Document lessons learned and contribute to knowledge shares for future projects.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Education:
· Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Supply Chain Management,
Procurement, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
Qualifications (minimum): · Strong analytical and quantitative skills; proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, charts) and basic data visualization. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills. · Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision on assigned projects. · Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. · Interest in procurement best practices, supplier management, and process improvement.

frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to touch, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally
required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while
performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This
position will involve computer tasks and telephone communication, including customer service. This job
requires a comprehensive workload and generally follows a regular five-day workweek; however, occasional six-
or seven-day schedules may be required. Corporate meetings and functions may be required, including
interstate travel to such events.
