About the Role
We are looking for an experienced freelance Celonis Consultant to design, build, and deliver process mining and process conformance solutions for our clients. You will work directly with business and IT stakeholders to extract data, build event logs, create analyses, monitor process adherence, and turn process insights into measurable improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather requirements and identify process mining use cases (e.g., Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Accounts Payable, Inventory/Supply Chain)
- Extract, transform, and load data from source systems (SAP ECC/S4HANA, Oracle, Salesforce, ServiceNow, etc.) into the Celonis Execution Management System (EMS)
- Build and maintain data models, event logs, and transformations using Celonis Data Integration and PQL/SQL
- Develop Analyses, Views, and dashboards, and configure KPIs for process performance
- Perform process conformance checks using Celonis Process Adherence Manager (PAM) — comparing as-is process execution against to-be target models to identify deviations and gaps
- Identify process inefficiencies such as bottlenecks, rework, deviations, and automation potential
- Configure Celonis Action Flows, Studio, and Execution Apps to drive operational action
- Present findings and recommendations to client stakeholders and support adoption
- Document data models, transformations, conformance findings, and solution design
- Troubleshoot data quality, performance, and extraction issues
Required Skills
- Proven hands-on experience with Celonis EMS (Data Integration, Studio, Analysis, Process Explorer)
- Hands-on experience with Celonis Process Adherence Manager (PAM) for conformance analysis
- Strong command of PQL and SQL (Vertica/PostgreSQL/Oracle)
- Experience building event logs and data models from ERP systems, preferably SAP
- Solid understanding of business processes (P2P, O2C, or similar)
- Experience with data extraction (Celonis extractors, SAP connectors, APIs)
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder-handling skills
Good to Have
- Celonis certifications (e.g., Data Engineer, Process Analyst, Business Analyst)
- Experience with Action Flows, Execution Apps, and Process Repository
- Python and/or data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)
- Exposure to RPA, process automation, or BPM tools
- Consulting or client-facing project background
- Domain experience in Finance, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing
Deliverables
- Configured data pipelines and validated event logs
- Analyses/dashboards with agreed KPIs
- Process conformance analysis and adherence reports (PAM)
- Process insights and improvement recommendations
- Technical and user documentation
