Manager, Prototype Shop Facility Responsibilities: - Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the prototype shop facility, ensuring efficient production and timely delivery of prototypes. - Develop and implement strategies to optimize workflow, maximize productivity, and maintain high-quality standards. - Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align prototype development with overall product design and engineering requirements. - Manage a team of skilled technicians and provide mentorship and guidance to ensure their professional development. - Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and quality protocols within the prototype shop. - Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to efficiently manage inventory, tools, and equipment. - Analyze performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions to enhance the overall efficiency of the prototype shop. - Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. - Minimum 5 years of experience in managing a prototype shop or a similar production facility. - Proven track record of leading a team and driving operational excellence. - Strong technical understanding of prototyping processes, equipment, and materials. - Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and project management skills. - Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams. - Proficient in using CAD software and other design and manufacturing tools. - Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. - Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
