Role Description This is a full-time, on-site CDP Continental role based in Puducherry. The CDP Continental is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting continental dishes according to hotel standards, ensuring consistency in taste, quality, and presentation. Day-to-day tasks include managing a section of the kitchen, assisting in menu planning, overseeing mise en place, monitoring food stock and rotation, and maintaining hygiene and safety standards. The role also involves coordinating with other kitchen staff, supporting junior team members, and working closely with the Head Chef to deliver a smooth, efficient kitchen operation during breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in continental cuisine, including preparation, cooking techniques, and plating.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen sanitation standards, with adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Ability to manage a kitchen section independently, including planning mise en place and organizing workflow.
- Competence in inventory handling, basic costing awareness, and minimizing food waste.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with chefs, kitchen staff, and service teams.
- Previous experience as a Commis Chef or CDP in a hotel or restaurant environment is preferred.
- Culinary diploma or certification from a recognized institute is an advantage.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays, with a focus on reliability and punctuality.
