Responsibilities

The Value-based Care Manager will consult on engagements with government health and human service programs, including primarily Medicaid and Medicare programs. Engagements include the design, implementation, compliance and review of traditional and evolving health care delivery models, particularly value-based care (VBC) arrangements focused on care delivery and population health outcomes. 


The Value-based Care Manager will manage various consulting engagements including planning, communication, quality controls, client relationships, resource needs, training, monitoring, deliverable preparation and project evaluation. The Value-based Care Manager will lead cross-functional teams that provide value-based payment consulting services, technical assistance, stakeholder engagement, implementation support, monitoring, and evaluation for projects supporting health and human services.


This person will bring expertise focused on one or several of the following areas: operations, compliance, and/or evaluation, program and systems transformation, quality improvement, population health, accountable care, managed care, long-term services and supports, behavioral health, health related social needs, and/or maternal health. 

Essential Functions and Primary Duties:

Client Services (Focus on the Client)

  • Establish, develop, and monitor client relationships
  • Conduct project planning and evaluate operational performance
  • Provide oversight of work plan functions, due dates, and preparation of deliverables
  • Develop a system of quality controls and procedures
  • Evaluate and ensure client satisfaction with work product 

 

Program Knowledge (Be the Experts)

  • Maintain and advance subject matter expertise
  • Develop and share engagement tools, resources, and reference materials 
  • Apply rigorous research, analytics, and interpretation of  state and federal policy, quantitative and qualitative data, and industry trends
  • Author well-written project reports, technical assistance tools, issue briefs, webinar presentations
  • Maintain security and confidentiality of protected health information and other sensitive information 
  • Monitor compliance with professional standards

 

Leadership (Empower Our People)

  • Recruit, develop and retain diverse staff
  • Foster active and respectful team communication and collaboration
  • Provide constructive written feedback and meaningful coaching to junior staff 
  • Collaborate with colleagues on effective management of the team, contract, and practice areas

 

Business Development (Grow the Firm)

  • Cultivate new opportunities and/or services
  • Represent the firm at conferences, workshops, and other industry related events
  • Provide support and contribute to other engagements and teams

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred or equivalent experience (health care, public health, social services, political science, finance)
  • 6 years’ of related experience
  • 3 years’ of supervisory experience
  • Proficient use of applicable software programs, including Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing with clients and internally at all levels of an organization
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Effectively multi-task with planning and efficiency
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to effectively and comfortably operate in a team oriented environment
  • Demonstrated high level of integrity, client service and leadership skills
  • Ability to formulate business, technical, and operational strategies
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% based on business and client needs
