Description
Peninsula Catholic High School is seeking a qualified Resource Teacher to lead and support our student resource program in alignment with our school’s mission and the Diocese of Richmond's guidelines for exceptional students. The Resource Teacher collaborates closely with administration, the guidance counselor, and faculty to ensure student success through appropriate accommodations and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage Student Accommodation Plans and Individualized Catholic Education Plans (ICEPs)
- Collaborate with faculty, parents, and students to implement and explain support plan
- Support Response to Intervention (RTI) processes and coordinate pre-referral efforts
- Chair Teachers Assisting Teachers (TAT) meetings for students needing intervention
- Conduct student observations and facilitate evaluations or referrals when necessary
- Work with students on learning strategies, organization, and self-advocacy
- Provide targeted academic support and monitor student progress
- Assist teachers with classroom strategies and accommodations
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education required: Master's degree, preferred.
- Current VDOE teacher license with endorsements in the assigned subject areas.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
This is a 10-month academic position (mid-August to mid-June) and includes an annual performance evaluation by the Principal.
