Role Overview

The Therapist provides trauma‑informed mental health services to individuals and families by conducting assessments, offering therapy across multiple settings, maintaining accurate and timely documentation and billing, meeting productivity expectations, collaborating with internal partners, and continuously developing skills through ongoing training.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Effectively engage individuals and families in the therapeutic process and complete mental health assessments utilizing a systems framework and trauma-informed approach among other modalities. Meet with clients at a CCAC site, in the community, or provides services via telehealth.
  • Work independently and consistently exercises discretion and sound judgment in providing community mental health services to individuals and families. Meet programmatic benchmarks for productivity.
  • Properly record all insurance billing for client services, verify documents, and submit information according to program protocol and CCAC policy. Responsible for thorough, timely, and accurately-written documentation for the client file. Record information in prescribed data systems. Complete statistical information in a timely manner. In addition to individual and family services, may provide group therapy, lead support groups, conduct psychosocial educational groups, and deliver presentations to community groups or consultations to schools and secondary settings. May provide recommendations and testimony for court (specifically when working with DCFS-involved clients).
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Engage in ongoing learning, training, and skill development, seeking and applying feedback to continuously improve performance and contribute to team and organizational success.

  • Fingerprinting
  • FBI/State (Pre-hire), DCFS (post-hire), DCFS CANTS; EC ONLY: CPS fingerprints, State sex offender, national sex offender, IL state police murder and violent offender

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum Master's degree in a related field of study, 1-3 years relevant experience
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

 

Certifications and Licensure

  • Preferred Clinical Licensure
