About the role
Assists in the design, development, and testing of electronic control system software. Develop engine control software for Caterpillar engines. The engine control system software supports Caterpillar engines from C9.3 through C280 and covers the following systems: aftertreatment, fuel system, air systems, prognostics, emissions, combustion, and advanced control strategies.
What You Will Do:
• Collaborate with team to design software control systems.
• Document system design and create associated test plans
• Develop control system software for engine and aftertreatment systems.
• Validate control system software in the following test environments: Hardware-in-the-loop, software-in-the-loop and on engine.
Education Requirement:
• Requires a degree in Engineering (Electrical/ Computer/Mechanical), or Computer Science from an accredited university.
What Skills You Will Have:
Technical Skills:
• Programing languages and simulation tools such as C, MATLAB, Simulink, and Python
• Closed-loop Control system fundamentals.
• Basic engine knowledge
• Basic electrical system & sensor knowledge

• Makes a systematic comparison of two or more alternative solutions.
• Uses logic and intuition to make inferences about the meaning of the data and arrive at conclusions.
