Job Summary:
As the Category Manager - Beverages at Frutta, you will be responsible for managing and expanding the company’s beverage portfolio. The role requires a strategic and market-oriented professional with strong vendor management, client relationship, and category growth experience. You will play a key role in identifying new beverage opportunities, driving category performance, ensuring quality standards, and strengthening vendor and client partnerships.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the growth of Frutta’s beverage category by identifying new business opportunities, expanding existing accounts, and increasing category revenue.
- Manage stock levels, product deliverables, and inventory coordination to ensure smooth category operations and product availability.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new beverage products aligned with market trends, customer preferences, and company standards.
- Source and onboard reliable vendors with high-quality beverage offerings while maintaining strong long-term vendor relationships.
- Conduct regular product quality checks and ensure consistency in product standards.
- Spend significant time in the field meeting vendors and clients, conducting market visits, site visits, and handling category-related activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients to improve customer satisfaction and increase business opportunities.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to enhance the beverage portfolio and improve category performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in any field.
- 3+ years of experience in business development, client relationship, or a related role in the beverages/FMCG industry.
- Strong understanding of product sourcing, inventory management, and vendor relations.
- Proven track record of successfully identifying, pitching, and closing deals with clients.
- Excellent negotiation skills and ability to upsell products to clients.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently in a field-based role with minimal supervision.
- Experience in managing stock reports, analyzing product performance, and driving category growth.
- Familiarity with the Chennai market.
