Designation: Category Intern (Indiluxe)
Internship Duration: 3-4 months
Office Location: Vikhroli West, Mumbai, Maharashtra
Primary Responsibilities:
- Review roadmap
- Request data access for all needed datasets.
- Document data quality issues, missing fields.
- Create data dictionary and initial exploratory analysis
- Set up Excel environment for analysis
- Draft analysis frameworks
- Calculate basic price elasticity for major accessory categories (watches, handbags, jewelry, etc.)
- Analyze discount effectiveness (10%, 20%, 30%, 40% off)
- Calculate revenue vs. volume trade-offs
- Consumer surplus analysis - estimate willingness to pay
- Identify optimal pricing points
- Build pricing recommendation matrix by category
- Create visualizations
- Segment customers by purchase behavior (frequency, basket size, AOV)
- Identify luxury aspirants vs. established luxury buyers
- Income/spending pattern analysis across segments
- Calculate Customer Lifetime Value by segment
- Calculate Customer Acquisition Cost vs. retention costs
- Analyze repeat purchase rates by segment
- Build retention economics model
- Identify high-value segment opportunities
- Analyze brand performance: revenue, margin, units sold
- Calculate HHI for market concentration
- Contribution margin analysis by accessory type and brand
- Identify high-margin vs. high-volume products
- Cross-selling analysis: basket composition, product affinity
- Which accessories are bought together?
- Build brand portfolio matrix (Boston Consulting Group style)
- Stars, Cash Cows, Question Marks, Dogs
- Analyze seasonal patterns: Diwali, New Year, Valentine's, Raksha Bandhan, weddings
- Quantify festival impact on sales
- Build seasonal demand index by accessory category
- Forecast upcoming season demand
- Geographic analysis: Metro vs. Tier 1 vs. Tier 2 cities

- Regional pricing and assortment recommendations

Detailed Project Description:
Project 1: Pricing & Demand Economics: Price Elasticity, Discount Sensitivity, Consumer Surplus.
Deliverable: Price elasticity report with discount recommendations
Project 2: Customer Segmentation & Lifetime Value:
Income Segmentation, Customer Segments, CAC vs Retention.
Deliverable: Customer segmentation report with retention strategy
Project 3: Product & Brand Portfolio Strategy:
Brand Portfolio, Margin Analysis, Cross-selling patterns.
Deliverable: Brand portfolio optimization report
Project 4: Seasonal & Geographic Demand Patterns: Seasonal/Festival Economics, Geographic Variation.
Deliverable: Seasonal demand forecast and regional strategy.
Qualifications: Graduate/pursuing graduation with prior internship experience in similar industry will be preferred
