Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and strategic Category Head – Dairy to lead and manage the entire dairy business vertical of the organization. This is a senior leadership role directly reporting to the CEO / NCE INDIA going ahead and responsible for defining the medium and long strategy, growth roadmap, and market expansion of the dairy segment.
The role requires deep ability in the dairy industry including product development, sourcing, processing, pricing strategy, and market positioning. The Category Head will handle and drive innovation, strengthening the dairy portfolio. Growing trends today, work very closely with MT / GT / QUICK COM & D2C channel heads.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall strategy and growth of the company’s dairy category.
- Own the end‑to‑end dairy business including product portfolio, sourcing strategy, pricing, and market expansion.
- Develop and execute long‑term category plans aligned with company growth aims.
- Drive New Product Development (NPD) for dairy products including value‑added dairy, dairy beverages, frozen dairy products, and emerging formats.
- Work closely with procurement, production, quality, supply chain, marketing, and sales teams to ensure successful product launches and distribution.
- Build strong supplier and dairy sourcing partnerships to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and supply stability.
- Analyze consumer insights, competitor activity, and market trends to find growth opportunities.
- Develop pricing strategies and profitability models to ensure sustainable margins.
- Strengthen brand positioning, packaging innovation, and product differentiation within the dairy category.
- Monitor sales performance, category growth, and market share and present strategic insights to leadership.
- Ensure compliance with FSSAI and relevant food safety regulations for dairy products.
- Guide cross‑functional teams and support business leadership in scaling the dairy segment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Food Technology, Dairy Technology, or related field.
- 12–18 years of experience in the FMCG or dairy industry.
- Strong ability in dairy products, dairy supply chain, processing, and market dynamics.
- Proven experience in leading category strategy, product launches, and business growth at-least INR 100 Cr plus
- Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and strategic planning skills.
