Product Designer (Data focussed)

We are seeking a talented and analytical Data Product Designer to join the team at Catch Metrics. This role focuses on creating intuitive, visually compelling interfaces for our web performance products. The ideal candidate will combine strong design skills with a deep understanding of data visualisation principles to transform complex performance metrics into clear, actionable insights for our users. This is initially a short-term engagement with potential to develop into a full-time position for the right candidate. Role Responsibilities Design elegant, user-friendly interfaces for our web performance products in Figma Create innovative data visualisations that effectively communicate complex performance metrics Develop comprehensive design systems that maintain consistency across our product suite Design customer-facing reports that clearly communicate complex performance data Create interfaces that cater to users with varying levels of technical understanding Work closely with engineers to quickly implement and iterate on designs Create practical solutions that can be implemented immediately to support our rapid iteration cycle Translate technical requirements into intuitive visual solutions Rapidly prototype and test design concepts for quick implementation Skills Required Expert-level proficiency with Figma and related design tools Strong understanding of data visualisation principles and best practices Experience designing dashboards and products that present complex data Experience designing for SaaS products and understanding SaaS user needs Ability to design tiered interfaces that serve both technical and non-technical users Experience creating customer-facing reports and data presentations Familiarity with responsive design and accessibility standards Understanding of frontend development constraints and capabilities Additional Valuable Skills Knowledge of web performance metrics and how they can be effectively visualised Knowledge of HTML/CSS to effectively communicate with engineering teams and build prototypes in code Qualifications & Experience Required Minimum 2 years of experience designing data-heavy products or dashboards Portfolio that must include examples of dashboards and data visualisations you have designed Experience designing SaaS products and customer-facing reports Demonstrated ability to design for audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge Proven ability to hit the ground running and deliver results quickly Balanced approach to planning - thoughtful but efficient, with focus on delivering rather than overanalysing Ability to scope and plan work appropriately without getting bogged down in excessive process Experience working in fast-paced environments with rapid iteration cycles Comfort with the pace of an early-stage product that's evolving quickly Strong communication skills with the ability to explain design decisions concisely
