Job Purpose
The Blend Lead is responsible for accurately mixing and blending all powder ingredients into blends by using various food handling equipment in a clean food safe environment.
Essential Duties
- Read work orders to determine production specifications or information for blends.
- Learn to use the ERP system to properly consume material, identify material, and complete certain blend processes.
- Follow all SOP’s and cGMP requirements.
- Participate in all applicable safety and food safety training and wear proper personal protective equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean workspace by assisting in housekeeping duties to minimize food safety risks.
- Have strong knowledge of the entire blend process.
- Assist in training and mentor blend operators in the use of equipment and processes
- Back fill any position that is essential to the blend process if needed.
- Review the schedule to ensure blends and jobs will be processed in a timely manner.
- Follow up on blend status with quality department and ensure blends are complete in all stages of the process.
- Lead blend operators to ensure jobs are completed accurately, on time and with high quality.
- Assist with training new blend operators.
- Able to lift 30 pounds repeatedly, 50 pounds frequently and 75 + pounds with assistance, daily.
- Ability to lift, twist, reach, grab, bend, stoop, climb, or perform similar activities as needed and stand for long periods.
- Use material handling equipment such as electric pallet jacks, pallet stackers, standing and riding forklifts.
- Willing to work overtime as necessary.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Education:
- High school diploma /GED or equivalent work experience is preferred.
Experience:
- Prioritization and time management skills
- Working quickly without compromising quality
- In a food facility or facility that follows cGMP practices is preferred but not required.
Key Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
- Knowledge of the cGMP
- Ability to communicate thoroughly with peers and management.
