Job details:
Cataloging = Storytelling at PlayBlue. Every listing, every spec, every image is either selling someone or losing them. You'll build the catalog for India's Home of Sport from scratch - across 100+ brands, thousands of SKUs, and categories spanning sport, gear, footwear, and apparel. If you've done this before and want to do it right this time, we're looking for you.
What you'll own
You'll work with brands and suppliers to get assets that are actually usable, then turn them into listings that convert. Product titles, descriptions, specs, size guides, imagery standards - all of it goes through you.
On an ongoing basis, you'll own catalog hygiene: new launches, variant management, pricing updates, delists, and seasonal refreshes. You'll coordinate with the buying team on assortment additions and with e-commerce ops on inventory accuracy. You'll also be the person who knows the catalog better than anyone else in the building. When the growth team is planning a campaign, they'll come to you. When a brand partner wants to know how their assortment looks online, you'll have the answer.
What we're looking for
3–7 years in catalog management, content operations, or merchandising - ideally in sports, apparel or footwear. You've managed high SKU-count catalogs and you know what happens when taxonomy breaks down at scale. You're detail-obsessed without being slow. You understand that a wrong spec or a missing size guide is a lost sale.
A genuine interest in sport helps. Understanding how a serious badminton player shops for a racquet is different from knowing how to list one. Both matter here.
Why now, why PlayBlue
Most catalog roles are maintenance jobs. This one isn't. You're building the catalog infrastructure for a brand that's defining multi-sport retail in India - from zero, with a real say in how it's done. The decisions you make in the first six months will be the ones everyone else works within for years. If that kind of ownership matters to you, let's talk.
