Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Cashier cum Accountant role based in Gurugram. The role involves handling daily cash transactions, preparing and issuing receipts, and maintaining accurate cashbooks and ledgers. The Cashier cum Accountant will process customer payments, reconcile cash and bank accounts, and assist with invoicing and billing related to gemstone sales. Responsibilities include recording financial entries, supporting basic accounting functions, preparing daily/weekly financial summaries, and coordinating with internal teams for timely documentation. The role also includes responding to customer queries on payments, supporting inventory valuation from an accounting perspective, and ensuring compliance with company policies and standard accounting practices.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong cash handling and transaction management skills, including issuing receipts, balancing cash drawers, and reconciling daily collections.
- Candidates should possess basic to intermediate accounting skills, such as ledger maintenance, journal entries, bank reconciliation, and familiarity with invoicing and billing processes.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in accounting and office software, including spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), accounting tools (Tally), and basic data entry applications.
- Candidates should possess good numerical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to identify and correct discrepancies in financial records.
- Candidates should possess strong communication and customer service skills to interact with clients, explain payment details, and coordinate with internal teams.
- Candidates should possess high standards of integrity, reliability, and confidentiality in handling financial information and cash.
- Candidates should ideally have prior experience in cashier or accounting roles; experience in gems, jewelry, or manufacturing sectors is an advantage.
- Candidates should possess at least a relevant diploma or bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
