About the role

About Cartesia

Our mission is to architect AI that learns from and interacts with the world like humans do.

We're pioneering the model architectures that will make this possible. Our founding team met as PhDs at the Stanford AI Lab, where we invented State Space Models or SSMs, a new primitive for training efficient, large-scale foundation models. Our team combines deep expertise in model innovation and systems engineering paired with a design-minded product engineering team to build and ship cutting edge models and experiences.

We're funded by leading investors at Index Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners, along with Factory, Conviction, A Star, General Catalyst, SV Angel, Databricks and others. We're fortunate to have the support of many amazing advisors, and 90+ angels across many industries, including the world's foremost experts in AI.

About the Role

Cartesia is hiring an International Growth Lead to own how we win in markets outside the US. In this role, you'll build the motion from scratch: getting in front of customers and partners, figuring out what's blocking deals, and turning what you learn into product improvements, better collateral, and sharper positioning. You'll be the connective tissue between the field and HQ, and the person who makes international a core part of how Cartesia grows.

Your Impact

  • Own packaging, pricing, and messaging for international markets. Identify where we're losing deals due to positioning or price and drive the changes that fix it

  • Get in front of customers and partners in-market and synthesize what you hear into clear strategy and priorities for the broader team

  • Build and maintain a prioritized product gap list from deal signal, live deployments, and competitive research, then work directly with Product and Engineering teams to close the gaps

  • Ship region-specific collateral, demos, and enablement assets, including demo agents scoped to customer use cases

  • Run the weekly international operating memos covering top deals, product asks, partner moves, and risks

  • Co-run live international deals with the Sales team, owning the technical fit, product gap, and demo conversations

  • Identify and execute market-specific growth bets across channels, verticals, partners, and marketing motions with the Growth team

  • Build the market readiness framework and playbook so that opening the next wedge (SE Asia, Middle East, LATAM) gets faster every time

What You Bring

  • 3+ years in product, BD, strategy, consulting, or operating roles at a fast-growing startup, with clear examples of moving things forward in ambiguous environments

  • High agency: you figure out what needs to happen, do it, and write up what you learned in a way that's actually useful to the people around you

  • Strong writing ability. Briefs, product input docs, and market notes are clean on first draft, and you use writing to think

  • Comfortable running a high volume of customer and partner conversations and pattern-matching across them into a clear point of view

  • Technically curious enough to ramp quickly on TTS/STT, latency, and deployment concepts and hold your own in a customer conversation within a few weeks

  • Genuine willingness to spend extended time outside the US and operate effectively across time zones and business cultures

  • Know when to bring in the AE, SE, or founder to drive a deal and donโ€™t try to run every part of the process alone

Nice to Have

  • Prior PM or BD experience at an AI, infra, dev-tools, CCaaS, or voice company

  • Experience launching into a new market or region from zero

  • Familiarity with at least one priority international market through language, business norms, or direct work experience. India ties are a plus for the first wedge

  • Working knowledge of AI/voice stack concepts: TTS/STT, latency budgets, on-prem deployment, agent frameworks
