Job Purpose
Support the design of human-centred digital health experiences across Carelon's portfolio of care management, claims, and member engagement platforms. This role is a stepping stone for emerging designers who want to grow their craft while making a tangible difference in how members and care teams interact with complex health systems.
Job Responsibility

Create wireframes, user flows, and prototypes to explore and communicate design solutions for health technology products.
Support synthesis of research findings into structured artefacts such as journey maps, affinity diagrams, and personas relevant to healthcare user populations.
Contribute to the production and maintenance of UI specifications, design documentation, and developer handoff assets using Figma.
Apply Carelon's design system components, interaction patterns, and accessibility standards consistently across deliverables.
Participate actively in design critiques, sprint ceremonies, and cross-functional reviews with product and engineering partners.
Collaborate with developers to ensure faithful, accessible implementation of designs in regulated product environments.
Respond to design feedback constructively and iterate on work with curiosity and a growth mindset.
Qualification
Bachelor's degree in UX Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Communication Design, Psychology, Cognitive Science, or a related field from NID, IIT, NIFT or other premium Design institutes
A portfolio demonstrating foundational design thinking, process documentation, and at least one end-to-end case study — academic or professional.
Coursework or project exposure to research methods, information architecture, behavioural science, or visual design.
Experience
1 – 2 years of professional UX design experience, including internships, co-op programmes, academic projects, or freelance work.
Hands-on experience with at least one major design or prototyping tool (Figma preferred).
Exposure to agile or sprint-based product development environments is an advantage.
Any prior experience in a healthcare, insurance, or social services context — even in a non-design capacity — is a meaningful plus
Knowledge and Competencies
-Working knowledge of Figma including component usage, auto-layout, and basic prototyping.
Foundational understanding of visual design principles: hierarchy, spacing, colour, and typography.
Familiarity with usability heuristics and WCAG accessibility guidelines.
Awareness of cognitive and behavioural psychology as it applies to user decision-making and interface design is a strong differentiator.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to articulate design rationale clearly to non-designers.
