The Career Guidance Counsellor supports high school students (Grades 9–12) in navigating the complex process of college planning and admissions. The counsellor provides individual and group counselling, develops and implements college readiness programs, liaises with colleges and universities, and works closely with students, parents, and faculty to help students identify and pursue postsecondary opportunities aligned with their academic, personal, and career goals.
Student Counselling & Support
Provide one-on-one counselling to students to explore career interests, college options, and application strategies.
Assist students in selecting subjects that align with their interests, aptitudes, and higher education aspirations.
Guide students in the development of their academic and extracurricular profiles.
Assist students with college applications, essay writing, and interview preparation.
Provide support with entrance tests/standardized testing timelines and strategies (e.g., SAT, ACT, AP, JEE, NEET, CLAT, CUET etc.).
College Planning & Application Process
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of college admissions processes, trends, and requirements in India and internationally.
Guide students in selecting appropriate universities, preparing application materials, and meeting deadlines.
Write effective counsellor recommendations and coordinate teacher recommendations and transcripts.
Organize and lead college application workshops and information sessions.
Parent Engagement
Communicate regularly with parents to provide updates, resources, and support throughout the college planning process.
Host parent sessions and one-on-one meetings to ensure transparency and involvement.
Collaboration & Administration
Strengthen university liaison efforts; coordinate visits from university representatives worldwide, facilitating interactions between students and higher education institutions.
Use college counselling software platforms to manage student data and communications and assist students and parents in researching colleges, careers, and enrichment opportunities.
