Role Description The Career Counselor role at ITROOTS Pvt. Ltd. is a full-time, on-site position based in the Pune District. The Career Counselor will guide learners in choosing appropriate IT courses, support their career planning, and assist in defining clear learning and employment pathways. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, organizing group career workshops, and providing ongoing guidance on resumes, interview preparation, and job search strategies. The role involves collaborating with trainers and placement teams to monitor learner progress, address academic or career-related concerns, and ensure alignment between learner goals and industry opportunities. The Career Counselor will maintain accurate records of counseling interactions and contribute to continuous improvement of career support services.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Career Counseling and Student Counseling, with the ability to support diverse learner backgrounds.
- Demonstrated experience in Career Development and Career Management, including planning career paths and tracking progress.
- Excellent Communication skills, both verbal and written, to conduct counseling sessions, workshops, and presentations.
- Relevant academic background in Psychology, Education, Human Resources, Career Guidance, or a related field.
- Experience working with students or early-career professionals, ideally in an education, training, or placement-focused organization.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and use digital tools (MS Office, CRM or LMS platforms) for documentation and reporting.
- Knowledge of current IT industry roles and trends; familiarity with skills required for software development, testing, data analytics, and related domains is an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills, empathy, and a learner-centric approach to support individuals through career transitions.
