Role Description The Career Counsellor will provide guidance to job seekers on overseas career opportunities, education and training pathways, and skill development aligned with global employer requirements. On a day-to-day basis, this role involves conducting one-on-one counselling sessions, facilitating group workshops, assessing candidate profiles, and helping individuals create clear career plans and job search strategies. The counsellor will collaborate with internal teams, training partners, and employers to align candidate aspirations with real job openings and to ensure accurate information on compliance, documentation, and migration processes. Additional responsibilities include maintaining detailed records of counselling sessions, preparing career resources, and contributing insights to improve Kovon’s talent marketplace. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Pune City.
Qualifications
- Strong career counselling, guidance, and coaching skills, with the ability to support diverse blue and grey collar workers in making informed decisions.
- Experience in candidate assessment, aptitude or skills evaluation, and creating individualized development plans.
- Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and explain complex processes clearly.
- Knowledge of global labor markets, overseas job requirements, compliance, and migration-related documentation processes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with universities, training institutes, and employers, and coordinate across multiple stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills, including managing counselling logs, candidate data, and follow-up actions.
- Comfort with using digital tools and platforms for scheduling, documentation, and online communication.
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Human Resources, Social Work, Education, or a related field; a counseling certification is an advantage.
- Prior experience in career guidance, recruitment, or workforce development, preferably with blue or grey collar talent, is highly beneficial.
