CCP specializes in providing comprehensive cardiology care and currently has over 30 locations throughout the Philadelphia region. We are currently hiring for a full time Nuclear Coordinator to work at our Phoenixville, PA offices.
Please note this role is entitled to a $500 sign on bonus.*
Responsibilities
- Optimize daily imaging schedules to maintain maximum capacity.
- Ensure accurate scheduling of nuclear imaging orders based on insurance and physician requirements, including order updates, chart reviews, and proper system linkage.
- Serve as the primary patient contact for scheduling, questions, and cancellations/rescheduling.
- Regularly review schedules to maximize utilization and adjust appointments as needed.
- Manage schedule changes due to closures, outages, or other disruptions.
- Monitor admin hold reports to ensure all orders are scheduled or appropriately documented.
- Maintain knowledge of imaging processes (PET/SPECT), including test prep, timing, and patient requirements, to support patients throughout the process.
- Identify and resolve or escalate patient-related issues that may delay studies.
- Conduct appointment reminders and confirmations to ensure preparation compliance and reduce no-shows.
- Improve patient arrival rates by coordinating rescheduling options and support services (e.g., transportation, payment plans).
- Understand and support prior authorization processes to facilitate timely scheduling.
- Review orders and patient charts to confirm medical necessity and prevent reimbursement denials; escalate issues as needed.
- Assist with post-procedure billing issues, including documentation, authorizations, and appeals.
Requirements
- Communication skills to converse clearly over the telephone
- Organization and time management skills to manage a variety of task effectively
- Must have the ability to multitask
- Must have experience in a medical office setting, preferably in Cardiology
- Computer knowledge is a must
- Attention to detail to schedule patients correctly and communicate scheduling difficulties with providers/managers
- Technological skills, such as using work processing and spreadsheet programs to track data
- Interpersonal skills to interact positively with patients
- Experience with an EMR system is a plus
