Role Description The Cardiac Catheterization Technician is a full-time, on-site role based at MUKTSAR MEDICITY HOSPITAL in Sri Muktsar Sahib. This role involves assisting cardiologists and cath lab staff in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, including patient preparation, positioning, and monitoring during procedures. The technician operates and maintains cath lab equipment, follows radiology safety protocols, and ensures accurate imaging and data collection. Daily responsibilities include preparing procedure rooms, managing supplies, supporting sterile technique, documenting procedure details, and collaborating with nursing and medical teams to promote safe, efficient workflow. The technician also participates in quality control activities, adheres to hospital policies and infection control standards, and supports patient education and reassurance throughout the procedure process.
Qualifications
- Certification and licensing skills: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent radiologic technology certification, with compliance to applicable regulatory standards.
- Cardiology knowledge: Strong understanding of Cardiology, cardiac anatomy and physiology, and common cardiac conditions and interventions.
- Cath lab expertise: Practical experience in Cath Lab settings, including assisting with Cardiac Cath procedures and managing cath lab workflows.
- Radiology skills: Proficiency in Radiology techniques related to cardiac imaging, radiation safety, and operation of imaging equipment.
- Additional beneficial qualifications: Diploma or degree in radiologic technology or cardiac technology; prior experience in a hospital cath lab; knowledge of emergency response protocols; attention to detail; ability to work in high-pressure clinical environments; effective communication and teamwork skills; commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.
