Role Description
This is a contract hybrid role for a CBAM & CCTS Expert based in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, with some work-from-home flexibility. The primary responsibilities include developing strategies to comply with the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and Carbon Credit Trading Systems (CCTS), conducting research on regulatory frameworks, and advising internal and external stakeholders. The expert will analyze carbon data, prepare compliance reports, and provide actionable recommendations to improve sustainability initiatives. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate CBAM and carbon offsetting strategies into broader ESG and climate-tech solutions is also a key part of the role.
Qualifications
- In-depth understanding of the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and Carbon Credit Trading Systems (CCTS)
- Strong research and analytical skills for understanding and interpreting complex regulatory frameworks
- Proficiency in developing data-driven strategies, compliance reporting, and implementation plans
- Experience working with ESG frameworks and sustainability reporting standards
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in data analytics tools, along with experience in leveraging AI or IoT solutions for environmental monitoring
- Post-graduate degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Law, Policy, or related field preferred
- Proven experience in climate policy or climate-tech consulting is a strong advantage
