Role Description The Car Service Mechanic/Technician (Gurudev Motors Chennai) is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai. The role involves performing routine and scheduled maintenance on passenger cars, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and carrying out necessary repair work in line with manufacturer standards. The mechanic/technician will inspect vehicles, identify faults, recommend corrective actions, and ensure all repairs are completed safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include collaborating with service advisors, maintaining accurate service records, using diagnostic tools and equipment, and adhering to workshop safety and quality guidelines. The role also involves supporting accident repair and paint jobs as needed, while delivering reliable service to enhance customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Field Service, including on-site vehicle inspection, diagnosis, and customer-focused service delivery.
- Experience working with Heavy Equipment and automotive systems, such as engines, transmissions, suspension, and braking components.
- Proficiency in Maintenance & Repair of passenger vehicles, including routine servicing, component replacement, and system adjustments.
- Ability to perform Preventive Maintenance tasks to minimize breakdowns and extend vehicle life, following manufacturer service schedules.
- Solid Troubleshooting skills to quickly identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
- Relevant technical qualification or diploma in Automobile Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent vocational certification.
- Prior experience as an automotive mechanic/technician, preferably in authorized dealer workshops or multi-brand service centers.
- Knowledge of safety standards, workshop best practices, and basic computer usage for service documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team, follow instructions, and maintain a professional approach to customer interactions.
