About the role

Capital Ford of Charlotte is seeking a highly experienced and customer-focused Automotive Expert Technician to join our service team. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of vehicles while ensuring every customer receives the highest level of care and service quality. We’re looking for a technician with strong mechanical skills, solid problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering dependable, accurate work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all work listed on repair orders efficiently and according to dealership and manufacturer standards
  • Test-drive vehicles and use diagnostic tools and specialty equipment to identify issues in components and systems
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair various automotive systems, including engines, brakes, transmissions, electrical, and more
  • Communicate clearly with the Service Advisor regarding findings, additional service recommendations, and repair timelines
  • Provide accurate time estimates for any additional or recommended repairs
  • Complete warranty repairs in accordance with manufacturer requirements and documentation standards
  • Provide guidance and support to junior technicians as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow all safety guidelines Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an automotive technician
  • Strong knowledge of automotive repair and preventive maintenance
  • Ability to learn quickly and work effectively as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong customer service mindset
  • Proficiency with computers and diagnostic software; willingness to learn new systems
  • Ability to operate electronic diagnostic and testing equipment
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass all pre-employment background screenings
