Qualifications
- Valid degree from an accredited college or university.
- Current Washington State Teaching Certificate with proper endorsements.
- Have or can obtain clearance from Washington State Patrol and FBI background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in appropriate endorsement area.
- Experience in alternative learning environments or online student tracking.
- Multiple areas of endorsement in secondary grade levels.
Knowledge and Abilities
- Demonstrate effective instruction and the ability to track quality evidence of learning through online platforms and multiple assessment types.
- High-level organizational and computer skills necessary for supporting online instruction and student progress tracking.
- Ability to facilitate "Flex Friday" initiatives, including large-scale projects and experiential learning.
- Must understand and maintain confidentiality.
- Demonstrate constructive and effective communication skills with students, parents, and cohorts.
- Familiarity with Common Core Standards and SBAC Assessments.
Essential Job Functions
- Online Student Tracking: Monitor and guide students enrolled in online courses, ensuring progress, attendance, and academic integrity.
- Middle School Intervention: Provide targeted academic support and intervention for middle school students to improve attendance and learning outcomes.
- Flex Friday Planning: Act as a lead planner for the Flex Friday schedule, creating opportunities for field trips, experiential learning, and community-based projects.
- Data Analysis: Utilize data to identify areas for growth in student attendance and engagement, specifically addressing post-COVID community needs.
- Classroom Environment: Create and maintain a supportive environment conducive to both independent online learning and small-group interventions.
- Collaboration: Meet and confer with colleagues, support staff, and parents regularly to discuss student progress and Flex Friday logistics.
- Compliance: Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and District policy.
- Professionalism: Maintain a positive attitude, good work ethic, and demonstrate promptness in all professional tasks.
