Medical Payment Poster - Not a Remote Position

Cancer Specialists of North Florida is recruiting for an experienced Medical Payment Poster for our busy Central Business Office. This is not a remote position. The Medical Payment Poster is responsible for the all payment posting, including the balancing of batches, and posting adjustments as needed per EOB to the patients account. This position is responsible for retrieving and posting the Co-pay logs from the EMR system, ensuring proper organization of checks and EOBs. This position is responsible for identifying and communicating fee schedule discrepancies as appropriate. In addition to these tasks, the Medical Payment Poster also identifies explanation of benefits for incorrect or inconsistent reimbursement and communicates payer trends to the department supervisor. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: 

• Retrieves Co-pay logs from EMR Department and posts to patient accounts.
• Posts line item payments (electronic and manual) and adjustments to patient accounts according to established office guidelines.
• Balances receipts, reconciles daily work batches, and prepares audit trail.
• Maintains all checks and EOBs together by deposit date to ensure batch integrity.
• Identifies explanation of benefits for incorrect and/or inconsistent reimbursement.
• Communicates payer trends to supervisor.
• Posts adjustments to accounts per site email requests and management requests.
• Identifies and communicates contract fee schedule differences.
• All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience: 

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

• Minimum of one or more years of experience working in a payment posting/insurance claim office position, preferably in a medical business setting.
