Job Description

The Faculty of Communication, Arts and Sciences , General Education Department invites applications for Full-time Faculty holding a Master's Degree or PhD with a specialization in any of the following areas:

• Music
• Arts in Music
• Music Education
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the program's subject matter expert
• Support the Program Chair/Coordinator in daily operations
• Ensure curriculum alignment with university standards and UAE Ministry of Higher Education requirements
• Engage in teaching, research, development, and community outreach activities
• Participate in administrative duties and community service
  
  

Teaching And Academic Duties

• Instruct courses in the relevant field
• Maintain accurate student records and submit timely grades
• Deliver and update course syllabi
• Assist in curriculum evaluation and suggest improvements
• Hold regular office hours and support student learning
• Advise students, particularly those at academic risk
• Recommend learning resources and materials
• Contribute to new course development
• Supervise independent studies
• Stay current with disciplinary developments through research and professional engagement
  
  

Administrative And Community Engagement

• Advise students during registration periods
• Attend faculty and departmental meetings
• Participate in orientation and professional development workshops
• Engage in community outreach activities
• Support the School's accreditation efforts
• Represent the Canadian University Dubai in professional settings
  
  

The ideal candidate will be committed to academic excellence, student success, and institutional growth.

Required Qualifications

• Completed Masters from an accredited university with a specialization in the specific field. (Unless stated otherwise next to the specific specialization above).
• Minimum of college-level teaching experience.
• Utilizes innovative teaching strategies.
• Demonstrated research agenda in the area of expertise.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse student population.
• Contacts with industry leaders and ability to expand university-industry partnerships.
• Evidence of experience with course development.
  
  

Please note: Preference will be given to candidates with Canadian affiliation in the form of Canadian qualifications, lecturing at a Canadian University and some form of linkage to Canada/North America.
