Position Overview
Symbiosis Open education Society invites applications from retired officers from the Indian Armed Forces for the position of Campus Administrator. The role requires a highly disciplined, experienced, and proactive professional capable of overseeing campus administration, security, logistics and operational management while ensuring a safe and well-organized university environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee overall campus administration and operational management of the university.
- Maintain campus security, discipline, and order across all university premises.
- Handle critical situations, emergencies, and operational challenges effectively and ensure quick resolution.
- Supervise and coordinate security personnel, administrative staff, and operational teams across the campus.
- Manage hostels, staff quarters, bungalows, and guest house facilities, ensuring smooth functioning and proper upkeep and facilities
- Oversee visitor management systems and campus access control.
- Manage parking systems, vehicle movement, and campus traffic management.
- Plan and coordinate university events, logistics arrangements, and large-scale campus activities.
- Liaise with internal university departments and external stakeholders, including local authorities, service providers, and regulatory agencies where necessary.
- Monitor campus infrastructure support services and ensure effective coordination between departments.
- Prepare administrative reports, official correspondence, and documentation as required by university leadership.
Eligibility Criteria
- Age: Candidates should be below 56 years of age.
- Service Background: Must be a retired officer from the Indian Army or Indian Navy.
- Rank: Minimum rank of Colonel or Brigadier (or equivalent rank).
- Experience: Minimum 15 years of service in the Armed Forces, with experience in administration, operations, logistics, or security management.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong leadership, discipline, and crisis management abilities.
- Experience in campus administration, security operations, or large facility management.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and operational challenges effectively.
- Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent drafting and communication skills in English.
- Ability to manage large teams, logistics operations, and campus facilities.
