Role Overview
The English Advantage is seeking enthusiastic and qualified Cambridge English Trainers to deliver high-quality exam preparation classes at our partner school locations across Bengaluru. The successful candidate will work directly with primary and secondary school students, preparing them for Cambridge Young Learners (YLE) and Key/Preliminary (A2–B1) examinations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, exam-focused English lessons for learners aged 6–17 across YLE and Key/Preliminary levels
- Prepare students effectively for all four skills assessed in Cambridge examinations: Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking
- Monitor and track individual student progress, providing regular feedback to school coordinators
- Adhere to The English Advantage's scheme of work and Cambridge English guidelines
- Maintain accurate attendance records and submit timesheets as required
- Communicate professionally with school staff and The English Advantage management team
- Participate in trainer briefings and any required induction or CPD sessions
Requirements
- Any recognised TEFL/TESOL qualification (e.g. CertTESOL, CELTA, or equivalent)
- Minimum English proficiency at B2 level or above; C1/C2 preferred
- Demonstrable experience teaching Young Learners and/or exam preparation classes
- Strong classroom management skills, particularly with primary and secondary age groups
- Reliable, punctual, and able to travel independently to partner school sites across Bengaluru
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Familiarity with Cambridge English exam formats (YLE, KET, PET)
- Prior experience teaching in a school environment
- Knowledge of Cambridge English learning resources and platforms (e.g. Cambridge One)
Remuneration
Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Hours are scheduled in accordance with partner school timetables and are subject to variation by term.
