Role Description The Cambridge Accounting Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, responsible for delivering Cambridge Assessment International Education Accounting curriculum to secondary and senior secondary learners. The role involves planning and conducting engaging lessons, preparing schemes of work, and designing assessments that align with Cambridge standards and the school’s holistic educational philosophy. The teacher will evaluate learner progress through formative and summative assessments, provide constructive feedback, and support learners in developing strong conceptual understanding and exam readiness. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining an inclusive classroom environment, integrating real-world accounting applications, collaborating with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects, and participating in school events, professional development, and parent-guardian meetings. The teacher is expected to uphold the school’s values, contribute to co-curricular activities, and support learners’ personal and social development.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Teaching and Education, with demonstrated experience delivering Accounting or related commerce subjects, preferably within the Cambridge curriculum.
- Proficiency in Lesson Planning and Training, including designing structured schemes of work, instructional materials, and assessment strategies tailored to diverse learner needs.
- Excellent Communication skills for clear explanation of concepts, active classroom facilitation, and effective collaboration with learners, families, and colleagues.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Education, or a related field; formal teacher training or certification in Cambridge or international education is an advantage.
- Experience preparing learners for external examinations (e.g., IGCSE, AS/A Level Accounting) and familiarity with current accounting practices and standards.
- Ability to create an inclusive, learner-centered classroom, use varied teaching methodologies, and integrate technology to enhance teaching and learning.
- Strong organizational skills, reflective practice, and commitment to ongoing professional development and holistic education.
