About the role

About The Role: The Project Manager will provide project management support to the national Innovative Mobility (IM) portfolio, which includes multiple federally funded grants and the Clean Mobility Options (CMO) Pilot Program. The Project Manager will focus on project management, contract management, budgeting, data management, reporting, program evaluation, and experience working with disadvantaged communities for needs assessments and implementation. This role is essential for managing projects across the IM Team and developing systems and platforms for data collection, visualizing data on dashboards, and optimizing processes to improve the efficiency and accessibility of program data. The Project Manager will play a key role in enhancing CALSTART's ability to make data-driven decisions and support the overall objectives of the IM Team. Duties & Responsibilities Project Management: Prepare and lead team meetings with Project Teams consisting of external partners. % of Time: 20% Data Collection and Analysis: Conduct data collection, cleaning, analysis, and visualization efforts to support program reporting and decision-making. % of Time: 20% System Development and Optimization: Develop and refine systems and platforms to better capture, quantify, and access information, improving data management efficiency. % of Time: 20% Dashboard Management: Manage and maintain multiple dashboards, ensuring that data is current and accurately reflects program metrics. % of Time: 15% Collaboration and Reporting: Develop engaging written and visual reports based on evaluation findings to communicate program impact and outcomes. % of Time: 15% Research and Tool Development: Contribute to the development and refinement of tools such as surveys, mapping tools, interactive tools, and reporting templates to support ongoing project work and evaluation efforts. Conduct research and gather information on mobility projects for inclusion in CALSTART’s resources. % of Time: 10% Qualifications 3-5 years of professional experience in IM transportation projects (e.g. micromobility and EVs), community engagement, data management, research, and analysis. Candidates should have experience in dashboard management, system development, and platform optimization within relevant fields such as Public Affairs, Computer Science, and Urban Planning. A degree in Public Affairs, Public Policy, Public Administration, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Urban Planning, Geography, Environmental Studies, and a related field. Experience gained through relevant programs or projects will be considered. Proficiency in zero-emission mobility options for people and goods movement, project management, community engagement, data management, research, data visualization, and report development. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Experience in developing transportation needs assessments and with software such as Salesforce, R, Stata, ArcGIS, and the Microsoft Office Suite. Desired Qualifications Experience in managing mobility projects, working with disadvantaged communities (DACs), and developing and optimizing systems for data capture, quantification, and access. Familiarity with Salesforce, statistical software (e.g., R, Stata), mapping tools (e.g., ArcGIS), and the Microsoft Office Suite is highly beneficial Additional certifications or advanced training in community engagement, data management, or analytics. Ability to develop and optimize systems for enhanced data capture and analysis. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on creating clear, engaging reports and presentations.
