The Poker Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Poker Room, tracking players when necessary, and provides protection for games while providing friendly, helpful service to every guest.
Responsibilities
Acknowledges, greets, and converses in English with customers who are waiting to be seated at an active Poker game.
- Seats customers on available Poker table and lets the Dealer know that there is a new player.
- Makes seat changes and writes them down so there is no error.
- Transfers monies from Cashier to customers.
- Watches games at critical hours.
- Puts games together as soon as there are enough seats to go around.
- Ensures that games are not left weak or unattended.
- Handles any customer concerns when necessary.
- Must be able to accurately maintain brush bank and complete mathematical computations when buying and selling chips and/or money with the Cashier.
- Answers telephone and maintains Poker Bank.
- Fills out appropriate paperwork.
- Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
- Spends the majority of time interviewing, training, and selecting employees.
Conducts Performance Reviews.
Makes or recommends wage increases.
Makes or recommends promotions.
Provides for safety and security.
Handles Team Member complaints or grievances.
Recommends disciplinary action or disciplines employees.
Plans work.
Supervises and monitors work.
Monitors legal compliance with federal, state, and gaming laws.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED is required.
Five years previous Poker dealing experience is required.
Ability to obtain a Non-Key LA Gaming license and Responsible Vendor Certification.
Must possess excellent customer relations and communication skills.
Must have knowledge of basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, and perform basic math without use of calculator.
Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.
