Job Title: CAE Modeler – Body and Frames
Job Description
This role focuses on creating and reviewing finite element (FE) models for automotive body and frame structures using HyperMesh. The CAE Modeler collaborates closely with internal teams and customers to deliver accurate, high-quality models and supports analyses such as modal analysis to ensure structural performance.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed finite element (FE) models for automotive body and frame components using HyperMesh.
- Perform meshing activities for various automotive components, ensuring element quality and adherence to project standards.
- Review FE models to verify accuracy, completeness, and consistency with design and analysis requirements.
- Coordinate tasks within the project team to ensure timely completion of modeling activities.
- Collaborate with engineers and customers to understand modeling requirements and clarify technical details.
- Apply knowledge of automobile components and their connections between assemblies to build realistic FE models.
- Support and perform modal analysis using FE models to evaluate structural behavior.
- Document modeling work, assumptions, and results clearly for internal and customer review.
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members to provide updates, address issues, and incorporate feedback.
- Ensure compliance with internal tool tests and modeling standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Essential Skills
- 1 to 3 years of experience as a Meshing FE Modeler using HyperMesh.
- At least 6 months of hands-on experience in meshing and FE modeling with HyperMesh (mandatory).
- Strong proficiency in finite element (FE) modeling, preferably using HyperMesh.
- Experience in reviewing FE models for quality and accuracy.
- Task coordination skills to manage and prioritize modeling activities.
- Basic knowledge of automobile components and connections between assemblies.
- Good communication skills for effective customer and team interactions.
- Solid understanding of strength of materials and its application in FE modeling.
- Knowledge and experience in performing modal analysis.
- Ability to clear internal tool tests related to HyperMesh and FE modeling.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in modeling automotive frames is an added advantage.
- Exposure to CAE workflows and best practices for automotive structures.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a project-based environment with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality FE models.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot modeling issues.
