Detailing Engineer - Concrete and Rebar

Position Overview
The Cadet Detailer position is an entry-level role that offers hands-on training and development opportunities in reinforced concrete detailing, providing a strong foundation for a career in structural detailing and construction engineering.
Working alongside experienced detailers, engineers, and project teams, you will learn how to interpret structural drawings, prepare reinforcement detailing documentation, and use industry-standard detailing software. This role is ideal for candidates who are eager to learn, possess strong analytical skills, and are passionate about technical design and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of rebar shop drawings, placing drawings, bar bending schedules, and bar lists.
- Review and interpret structural and architectural drawings under supervision.
- Learn and apply the industry standards, project specifications, and detailing practices.
- Use rebar detailing software and drafting tools to support project deliverables.
- Coordinate with detailers, checkers, and leads to ensure drawing accuracy.
- Participate in quality self-checks to identify and correct errors in drawings and schedules.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and filing systems.
- Support the timely delivery of detailing packages to meet project deadlines.
- Attend training sessions and actively develop technical knowledge and industry understanding.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential
- University Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering, or an equivalent relevant discipline.
- Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and commitment to quality.
- Good mathematical and analytical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (advantageous but not essential).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel...).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Preferred
- Exposure to AutoCAD, aSa, RebarCAD, Tekla Structures, Autodesk Revit, or similar detailing software.
- Understanding of reinforced concrete construction principles.
- Previous internship, cadetship, or coursework related to structural detailing
