Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a CAD Support Officer located in Bengaluru South. The CAD Support Officer will be responsible for providing technical assistance related to CAD software, troubleshooting user issues, and supporting team members in project execution. Daily tasks include offering guidance on CAD software operations, assisting with technical challenges, collaborating with various departments, and delivering high-quality technical solutions aligned with project specifications.
Title: CAD Support Officer
Years of Experience: Minimum: 3–6 years
Preferred: 5+ years in CAD/Application Support within engineering, EPC, mining, infrastructure, or industrial project environments
Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Civil/Electrical), Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent technical qualification
Relevant certifications in CAD platforms or IT Service Management (e.g., AutoCAD/Plant 3D, Revit, Tekla, ITIL) – preferred
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION
· Hands-on experience supporting engineering design applications in a production EPC/industrial delivery environment
· Exposure to multidisciplinary engineering tools and workflows (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping, E&I)
· Experience working with IT Service Desk and Application Support teams for incident, problem, and change management
· Understanding of CAD workstation configuration, software deployment, version upgrades, and patch management
· Experience supporting global users across multiple geographies and time zones
· Familiarity with license management, usage monitoring, and compliance tracking
· Experience in CAD audits, standards enforcement, and best-practice implementation
· Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and structured documentation practices
Exposure to HSE requirements and compliance within engineering delivery environments
SKILL / TOOLS KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
· AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Civil 3D, Revit, Tekla (any two or more mandatory)
· Exposure to engineering data management platforms (e.g., Vault, ProjectWise, Smart Plant, E3D – desirable)
· Service Desk / ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, Remedy, or equivalent)
· Windows OS configuration, workstation standardization, application deployment
· License server configuration and monitoring (FlexNet or equivalent)
· User access control and application permissions
· Knowledge base creation, SOPs, CAD support manuals
· Understanding of QA processes and compliance documentation
· Technical troubleshooting
· Stakeholder communication (engineers, IT, application teams)
· Change communication and rollout support
MUST REQUIRED SKILLS
· Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve CAD application incidents in live project environments
· Strong understanding of engineering workflows and the impact of CAD disruptions on project delivery
· Experience working in structured Service Desk operations with ticketing, prioritization, and SLA compliance
· Ability to standardize CAD workstations and ensure fit-for-purpose configurations
· Capability to test new versions/patches and provide structured feedback prior to rollout
· Strong documentation discipline (knowledge base, known issues, SOPs, user guidance)
· Ability to coordinate with global IT Service Desk and application support teams
· Clear communication skills for user support, training, and change notifications
· High ownership mindset with focus on root cause analysis, trend monitoring, and continuous improvement
· Compliance with Quality, HSE, and corporate governance frameworks
