Position: OpenScad Expert
Type: Hourly contract
Compensation: $20 - $120/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
Role Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end OpenSCAD projects from requirements gathering to final model export.
- Develop and structure parametric scripts with reusable modules for efficient design workflows.
- Apply CSG techniques to create complex 3D models and perform 2D-to-3D transformations.
- Iterate on models with logical, script-driven decision-making and engineering reasoning.
- Prepare and export files in standard formats ensuring manufacturing compatibility.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clearly communicate design processes.
- Document workflows, design rationale, and technical decisions for AI-driven applications.
Requirements
- Strong experience with OpenSCAD and completion of full design projects.
- Solid knowledge of CAD fundamentals and Constructive Solid Geometry concepts.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software tools.
- Ability to create, optimize, and document reusable parametric scripts and modules.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Strong attention to detail and structured problem-solving approach.
