Role Description The Cad Draftsman Steel Structures role is a full-time on-site position based in Delhi, India. The role involves preparing detailed CAD drawings of steel structures for offshore and marine projects, following engineering specifications, standards, and project requirements. The Cad Draftsman will develop fabrication and installation drawings, including connection details, support arrangements, and material take-offs for structural components. Daily tasks include interpreting engineering calculations and sketches, updating drawings based on review comments, ensuring accuracy and consistency in documentation, and maintaining organized drawing records. The role also requires close collaboration with structural engineers and project teams to resolve design issues, support design revisions, and align deliverables with client and regulatory expectations.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong CAD drafting skills in steel structures, including proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with 2D modeling workflows.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of structural engineering fundamentals, especially for offshore and marine steel structures, including connections, supports, and fabrication details.
- Candidates should possess skills in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and standards, with attention to accuracy and detail.
- Candidates should possess basic computer and software skills relevant to engineering design environments, and the ability to work with project documentation and file management systems.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering, or a related discipline, from a recognized institution.
- Prior experience as a CAD draftsman or detailer for steel structures, preferably in offshore, marine, or industrial projects, is highly beneficial.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate with engineers and project stakeholders and meet deadlines.
- Understanding of industry codes and standards relevant to steel structural design and fabrication is an advantage.
