Role Summary
Parel Creative Pvt. Ltd looking for a hands-on CAD Designer / Industrial Engineer to help refine our existing CAD designs and make them ready for fabrication and manufacturing. The candidate will update CAD models, select suitable materials, define practical tolerances, resolve fit and assembly issues, and work directly with fabricators/manufacturers to produce DFM-ready parts.
This role is suited for someone who is more than a CAD operator—someone who understands how parts are actually made, assembled, inspected, and improved through prototype and production feedback.
Key Responsibilities
- Modify and improve existing 3D CAD models and assemblies.
- Create and update 2D manufacturing drawings with dimensions, tolerances, materials, finishes, and fabrication notes.
- Review designs for manufacturability, assembly, fit, clearance, stiffness, fastening, and serviceability.
- Select appropriate materials based on strength, weight, durability, cost, surface finish, and manufacturability.
- Recommend suitable manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, laser cutting, bending, welding, 3D printing, or plastic fabrication.
- Define practical tolerances and apply GD&T where needed.
- Review tolerance stack-ups and resolve fitment issues between mechanical, optical, electronic, and enclosure components.
- Work directly with fabricators, machine shops, and manufacturers to clarify drawings, review feedback, and implement design changes.
- Prepare vendor-ready files including STEP files, DXFs, drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing notes.
- Support prototype builds, fit checks, inspection, and design revisions.
- Document CAD revisions, material choices, tolerance assumptions, and DFM changes.
Required Skills
- Strong experience with 3D CAD and 2D manufacturing drawings.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor, Creo, Onshape, or similar CAD tools.
- Practical understanding of DFM, DFA, tolerances, fasteners, materials, and fabrication methods.
- Experience working with machine shops, sheet metal vendors, fabricators, or contract manufacturers.
- Ability to balance design performance, manufacturability, cost, and assembly simplicity.
- Strong communication skills for working with engineering teams and manufacturing vendors.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with medical devices, optical systems, precision instruments, robotics, electronics enclosures, or electromechanical products.
- Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Familiarity with ISO 13485, FDA design controls, or regulated product development is a plus.
- Experience supporting prototype-to-production transition and low-volume manufacturing.
Expected Deliverables
- Updated CAD models and assemblies.
- Manufacturing-ready drawings.
- STEP/DXF vendor files.
- BOM updates.
- Material and finish recommendations.
- Tolerance and DFM recommendations.
- Vendor-ready documentation packages.
- Assembly and prototype support.
Engagement Type
