SoftAge
SoftAge partners with leading global AI research labs and product teams to build and train next-generation autonomous agents and foundation models. Our work powers advanced digital assistants, engineering copilots, and task-completing AI systems across desktop, web, and mobile platforms.
We operate at the intersection of engineering expertise and AI research, translating real-world professional workflows into high-quality training data for state-of-the-art models.
Role Overview: We are hiring Mechanical, Industrial Design, and Electromechanical Engineers with hands-on CAD and hardware experience to contribute to a high-impact AI training initiative for a global client. This role is suited for engineers who have spent time doing real design work, spanning mechanical enclosures, PCB design, and electromechanical integration, and can clearly express design intent through structured, well-executed workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Execute end-to-end mechanical, industrial, and/or electromechanical design tasks using CAD tools such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, KiCad, Altium, or equivalent
Create, modify, and refine 3D models and PCB layouts with clear design intent and logical feature structure
Design physical enclosures integrated with PCB assemblies, including snap-fits, mounting schemes, connector cutouts, and EMI/thermal considerations
Record design workflows, decisions, and actions in a structured format suitable for AI training
Review existing CAD models and PCB designs; provide technical, functional, or aesthetic feedback when required
Follow detailed task specifications and collaborate closely with internal leads and client teams
Maintain high standards of process quality, correctness, and repeatability
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's/Master's/Doctorate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, ECE, or related fields
1–3 years of hands-on industry experience in core mechanical, product design, or electromechanical roles
Strong working knowledge of at least one professional CAD tool: Fusion 360, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or similar
Demonstrated ability to build parametric models thoughtfully, structure sketches and features cleanly, and make and justify design decisions
Good communication skills and ability to follow structured, technical workflows
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working on PCB design and layout using tools such as KiCad, Altium Designer, Eagle, or equivalent, candidates with this background will be prioritised
Experience designing physical enclosures intended to house PCBs and electromechanical assemblies, including snap-fits, DFM constraints, connector placement, and mechanical-electrical integration Familiarity with electromechanical product design concepts: signal integrity basics, component placement relative to enclosure, grounding considerations, and thermal management
Experience working on complex assemblies or production-oriented designs
Exposure to design documentation, design reviews, or manufacturing constraints
Prior experience in AI data creation, annotation, or tooling-heavy environments (nice to have, not mandatory)
Candidates from top-tier engineering institutes (NIRF-ranked) will be given preference
Additional Information
This is an on-site, project-based role. Selected candidates must sign a confidentiality and invention assignment agreement approved by the client. Work quality, design clarity, and process adherence will be closely monitored and audited.
