Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kolkata for a CA Article Trainee and Paid up Assistant. The role involves assisting in accounting and financial reporting, preparing and reviewing working papers, and supporting statutory and tax audits under supervision. Responsibilities include drafting and filing income tax and GST returns, supporting ROC filings and corporate compliance documentation, and helping with basic research on tax and regulatory matters. The trainee and assistant will interact with clients for data collection and clarification, maintain organized records and workpapers, and contribute to the timely completion of assignments. The role also includes learning and applying professional standards, participating in internal training, and supporting senior team members in day-to-day firm operations.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess a strong foundation in accounting and financial reporting, including familiarity with basic standards and ledger maintenance.
- Candidates should possess skills in direct and indirect taxation, including income tax computation, GST concepts, and basic knowledge of ROC and corporate compliance.
- Candidates should possess analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and refer to relevant tax and regulatory materials.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word), basic accounting software, and the ability to prepare clear working papers and documentation.
- Candidates should possess good written and verbal communication skills, professional ethics, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- CA Article Trainee: Should be registered or eligible to register for articleship under ICAI; Paid up Assistant: Commerce graduate or equivalent with a strong accounting background.
- Prior internship or experience in a CA firm, familiarity with Indian tax laws and compliance procedures, and willingness to learn and take responsibility are beneficial.
