Now Hiring: Field Engineer / Assistant Superintendent (Entry-Level / Recent Graduates)
Position Overview
C.R. Jackson is looking for a motivated Field Engineer / Assistant Superintendent to join our team and grow with us. This role is ideal for recent college graduates in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields who are ready to launch their careers in the asphalt and construction industry.
This position blends technical engineering support with field leadership development, giving you hands-on experience in both project coordination and day-to-day job site operations. You’ll work alongside experienced superintendents, project managers, and crews while building the skills needed to lead projects in the future.

What You’ll Do
- Assist with project layout, grade verification, and field measurements
- Support daily job site operations alongside the Superintendent
- Track quantities, materials, and production
- Help coordinate crews, equipment, and subcontractors
- Support quality control and ensure work meets specifications
- Assist with daily reports, scheduling, and job progress tracking
- Identify and communicate issues that may impact production
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on all job sites
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or graduating soon)
- Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Interest in field leadership and construction operations
- Basic understanding of construction plans and specifications (preferred, not required)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Willingness to work outdoors and travel to job sites
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
