Summary
We are looking for a versatile QA Automation Engineer to join a high-impact project at UST. The ideal candidate is a quality advocate who bridges the gap between manual precision and automation efficiency. You will be responsible for designing robust automation frameworks using C# (with a secondary preference for Java) and Playwright, while remaining deeply involved in the manual exploratory testing of complex systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Hybrid Testing: Seamlessly transition between manual functional testing and automated script development.
- Automation Strategy: Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for web applications using C# and Playwright.
- Framework Enhancement: Contribute to the improvement of existing automation frameworks to ensure scalability and reliability.
- Manual Execution: Perform thorough manual testing, including smoke, regression, and ad-hoc exploratory testing to identify edge cases.
- Collaboration: Work closely with developers and stakeholders to understand requirements and provide timely feedback on code quality.
- Defect Management: Identify, document, and track software defects to resolution using tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
Must-Have
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Primary Language: Strong proficiency in C# (Object-Oriented Programming, Collections, LINQ).
- Automation Tools: Hands-on experience with Playwright for web automation.
- Testing Core: Solid understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and bug life cycle.
- Manual Expertise: Proven ability to write clear, concise test cases and execute manual test plans.
- Good to Have:
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins).
- Experience in an Agile/Scrum environment
Soft Skills
- Adaptability: A proactive "willingness to do both" manual and automation tasks as the project demands.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex automation failures.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for team collaboration
