Team introduction: The ByteDance search team is mainly responsible for search engineering, algorithm innovation, and architecture research and development for products such as Douyin, Toutiao, and Xigua Video. Our responsibility is to use cutting-edge technology to create a search engine product with good user experience and high information efficiency. Our vision is to be a user-first search engine, and our mission is to fully integrate content and efficiently connect people and information. The team is mainly responsible for the business research and development and architecture research and development of products such as Douyin, Toutiao, Xigua Video, Q&A, and Encyclopedia. We use cutting-edge front-end, client, and server-side technologies to enable the rapid iteration of search business, and continue to innovate and break through in technology. At the same time, we focus on the construction of large-traffic, high-concurrency, and low-latency search systems. In terms of performance optimization, we pursue innovative exploration from memory, Disk, etc. optimization to business architecture and network protocols. In terms of iteration efficiency, we continue to explore innovations in containerization, dynamicization, and construction. The technical atmosphere is strong, and students are fully provided with opportunities for self-growth. 1. Participate in the R&D of search engines, use cutting-edge machine learning and deep learning algorithms and massive data to create exciting technologies and provide users with a better search experience; 2. Participate in the search R&D of products such as Douyin/Toutiao/e-commerce/life services, and strive to provide hundreds of billions of accurate search results for hundreds of millions of users and create an ultimate search experience; 3. Participate in the improvement of search core algorithms. Optional directions include: 1) NLP: Use technologies such as LLM to develop new natural language processing algorithms and information retrieval technologies to improve the accuracy and intelligence of search engines. 2) Recall and sorting: With the help of semantic understanding, personalized estimation, mechanism design and other technologies, we solve the recall, sorting and reshuffling models of ultra-large-scale video, product, live broadcast, POI and other search businesses; 3) Multimodality: Based on large-scale multimodal pre-training and video analysis technology of massive web page graphics and Douyin video data, we improve the user experience of visual search; 4) Page analysis and summary: Extract the most valuable information from hundreds of billions of videos/web pages, perform structured field extraction, intelligent summary generation, transcoding and other tasks to optimize the search experience; 5) Link analysis: Find the most valuable web pages from trillions of links, optimize link quality, index quality, spam identification, scheduling strategies, etc.
