To manage end‑to‑end procurement of Mechanical equipment’s & Packages (Process & Utility), ensuring cost optimization, technical compliance, timely delivery, and alignment with project schedules and organizational procurement strategy.
Key Responsibilities & Job Description (JD)
1. Procurement & Sourcing
- Lead procurement of mechanical equipment and packages such as:
- Static equipment (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks)
- Rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, blowers)
- Fabricated items and bought‑out components
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for mechanical packages.
- Finalize vendor shortlisting, RFQs, techno‑commercial evaluations, and negotiations.
- Achieve cost reduction through benchmarking, value engineering, alternate sourcing.
2. Techno‑Commercial Management
- Review engineering documents: datasheets, GA drawings, MTOs, specifications.
- Coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, projects teams.
- Ensure technical compliance with contract, codes, and standards (ASME, API, ANSI, ISO).
- Prepare and finalize:
- Techno‑commercial comparison (TCC)
- Purchase Orders (POs) and amendments
- Contract terms including Payment terms, LDs, guarantees, warranties
3. Vendor Development & Relationship Management
- Develop strategic suppliers and long‑term sourcing partners.
- Conduct vendor assessment, audits, and performance reviews.
- Manage supplier risks, capacity, and delivery commitments.
- Resolve vendor disputes related to quality, delivery, or commercials.
4. Project Coordination & Expediting
- Track critical procurement milestones aligned with project schedules.
- Coordinate inspection, FAT, dispatch clearance, and logistics.
- Ensure on‑time material delivery to site to avoid project delays.
- Support claims, change management, and variation orders.
5. Cost Control & Governance
- Ensure procurement within approved budgets.
- Support make‑or‑buy analysis and value engineering initiatives.
- Maintain procurement documentation in line with audit requirements.
- Adhere to ethical procurement practices and company policies.
6. Reporting & Systems
- Prepare procurement MIS : Cost savings, Order status, Critical shortages, Vendor performance
- Work with ERP/SAP/Oracle for PO creation, GRN coordination, and reporting.

- Ability to read drawings, datasheets, BOQs, and MRs
- Knowledge of domestic and international procurement

- Understanding of Incoterms, payment terms, LDs, warranties
