About the Role
We are looking for experienced Buyers / Procurement Engineers across multiple technical domains to support EPC and project procurement activities.
This role will be responsible for end-to-end procurement of critical equipment and packages, ensuring cost optimization, timely delivery, and compliance with technical & quality requirements.
We are hiring specialists in the following areas:
- Electrical
- Instrumentation
- Rotary Equipment (Pumps, Compressors)
- Piping (Bulk & Engineered Items)
Key Responsibilities (Common Across All Roles)
- Manage end-to-end procurement cycle: RFQ → techno-commercial evaluation → negotiation → PO placement → expediting → delivery .
- Review technical specifications, datasheets, BOQs, and drawings in coordination with engineering teams
- Conduct vendor identification, pre-qualification, and bid evaluation
- Perform techno-commercial comparisons (TBE/CBE) and align with project requirements
- Lead commercial negotiations to achieve cost savings and favorable contract terms
- Ensure compliance with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards
- Coordinate with QA/QC, expediting, logistics, and site teams for smooth execution
- Track supplier performance, delivery schedules, and resolve supply chain issues
- Support contract management, variation orders, and claims handling
- Maintain procurement documentation and ensure audit compliance
Role-Specific Expertise
1. Electrical
- Transformers, switchgear (LV/MV), MCCs, motors
- Cables, busducts, lighting systems
- Knowledge of IEC/IEEE standards and vendor ecosystem
2. Instrumentation
- Field instruments (pressure, flow, level, temperature)
- Control valves, analyzers, DCS/PLC systems
- Loop diagrams, instrument specifications, SIL (preferred)
3. Rotary Equipment
- Pumps, compressors, turbines, packaged skids
- Familiarity with API standards (API 610, 617, etc.)
- Vendor management for critical rotating packages
4. Piping
- Pipes, fittings, flanges, valves (bulk procurement)
- Knowledge of materials (CS, SS, alloy steels)
- Exposure to piping classes, MTOs, and bulk take-offs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical / Instrumentation / Mechanical)
- 8–12 years of relevant experience in procurement / buying within EPC or manufacturing
- Strong exposure to project procurement and vendor management
Key Skills
- Strong procurement and negotiation expertise
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings
- Experience in EPC project procurement cycles
- Knowledge of contracting, commercial terms, and incoterms
- Strong analytical, cost optimization, and decision-making skills
- Effective stakeholder coordination and communication
Preferred Experience
- Experience in Oil & Gas / Fertilizer / Petrochemical projects
- Exposure to global sourcing and supplier networks
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle)
