Role Description The Business Unit Head is a full-time, on-site role based in Pune, responsible for leading the end-to-end strategy and performance of assigned brands and product categories. This role oversees P&L, sets growth targets, and drives business plans across sales, marketing, supply chain, and operations to achieve revenue and profitability objectives. The Business Unit Head will collaborate with cross-functional teams to launch new products, optimize existing portfolios, and ensure strong execution in modern trade, general trade, and e-commerce channels. Daily responsibilities include monitoring market trends, analyzing performance data, making decisions on pricing and promotions, and aligning teams around clear KPIs and milestones. The role also involves building and mentoring high-performing teams, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability, and representing the business unit in strategic discussions with senior leadership and key external partners.
Qualifications
- Strong business leadership skills, including P&L management, strategic planning, and decision-making in FMCG or consumer goods.
- Experience in brand management, product portfolio management, and go-to-market strategy for food or snack categories.
- Proficiency in sales and distribution management, including modern trade, general trade, and e-commerce channels.
- Ability to interpret market research, consumer insights, and performance analytics to guide commercial strategy.
- Demonstrated people management skills, with experience in team building, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Knowledge of FMCG operations, supply chain coordination, demand planning, and inventory optimization.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills for internal and external partnerships.
- Relevant postgraduate or graduate degree in Business Management, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Proven track record of driving growth for emerging or challenger brands; prior experience in food/snacking segment is an advantage.
- Comfort with fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments and willingness to be hands-on in execution.
